Celebrity Inspiration - British Fashion Award 2011

On the 28th of November, the ceremony saw the best of the fashion industry, in Britain and also internationally at the British Fashion Awards 2011 where celebrities and guests dons their most glamorous looks. These are the few narrowed down, that caught our attention:

Check out the editor of British Vogue and model, Alexa Chung in those adorable covetable cat pumps and in the stunning glitter white dress. Cute but in our opinion, not enough to win the title of best dressed that night.

Kate Moss in a full-body fishnet dress, what do you think of her outfit? It could probably be an upcoming trend, because what Kate Moss wears, the high streets follow.

This wool dress combined with sequins, feathers and beads, from the Matthew Williamson Fall 2011 collection, on Olivia Palermo is jaw-dropping. Most people wearing a dress with so much going on would have opted for a plain simple pair of shoes, but Olivia Palermo paired the dress with mesh booties from Topshop that definitely sealed the look. Her shoes are now available on the Topshop website here.

Victoria Beckham looking gorgeous in a long black number, with a low plunging back and in a pair of Christian Louboutin platforms. Absolutely stunning, in our opinion. She also clinched the 'Designer Brand' award that night.

Also, Sarah Burton, chief designer of Alexander McQueen, was named Designer of the Year. And she totally deserved it.

Sneak Peek: Kurt Geiger Spring 2012 Collection

Think strong silhouettes, glitter soles, slender heels, statement-making designs, bright neon-coloured platforms, and you've got Kurt Geiger's Spring collection, where you could easily spot key trends that will be emerging on the runway. This collection was a mix of refined edgy undertonepaisley-esque prints and stunning platforms that comes in soft pastel colours, which simply reminds us of multicoloured cotton candy. Oh not to mention the added collection of beautiful sunglasses. Here's a little sneak peek into the collection:

Aren't they just mesmerizing? And we would really love to get our hands on a pair of sunglasses from this collection, some of these beauties definitely have that retro vibe to them, yet very ladylike.

Check the Kurt Geiger website for updates on new arrivals soon.

Kim Noorda by Naomi Yang for Vogue Mexico

Donned in ensembles from the works of Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Gucci and Gareth Pugh, in a classic but very feminine up-do, Kim Noorda is the roaring sensation for the November Issue of Vogue Mexico. The outfits put together for this editorial spread: Fetish Girl, was very much based on sexy, sheer and see-through, with different mix of textures. Also, we love the idea of her with minimal jewellery on, and when she was wearing any, they were definitely statement pieces to die for.

Absolutely love the zip detailing on this one, together with the combination of a mix of texture. Very sci-fi and futuristic no?

Kate Spade x Poppy King: Supercalifragilipstick

Can't believe how long it took for us to come across this interesting collaboration between Lipstick Queen, Poppy King and Kate Spade, but still just in time for the holidays as a little gift.

The luxe collection comes in four shades: (from left to right) Adventurous Red, Fuchsia Fete, Pop Art Pink and Bashful Blush.

The lipstick is a combination of a lip colour, gloss and a balm all in one. The lipsticks have been described as elegant, effortless and super moisturising lip puckers.
Poppy King on the texture: “Deborah and I wanted to create a product that had the glamour of lipstick without the commitment to a full pigment."

Doesn't this little collection makes you wonder what it would be like if they continued the collaboration to finish with a full entire line?

Now available on the Kate Spade website here and in store at Raffles City for $55 each.

Street Style: Milan Fashion Week SS2012

Where better to look for street fashion inspirations? No other place, than off the catwalks of Milan Fashion Week, the place dedicated to women's fashion.

(Gala Gonzalez, blogger with River Island shoes, Theory bag, Monica Vinader jewels, and Topshop glasses)

(Matilda Lutz, blogger with Jean Paul Gaultier jacket, Topshop dress, Ann Demeulemeester boots and Aristolasia bag)

Shoulder cut-outs are a way to look seductive and relaxed without showing too much skin, and this is definitely in trend as seen on the runways at Rodarte Spring 2012 and Cacharel Spring 2012. Love how Matilda Lutz paired a bright yellow jacket with a long maxi dress, really gives the look a pop of colour.

(Natalie Joos, casting agent and journalist with vintage top and skirt, and Prada bag)

Just like pleats, mixing prints with prints for a contrasting look has made its comeback from previous seasons.

(Simone Kitchens, editor with vintage dress and Acne boots)

(Valentina Dipinto, fashion editor with Numero 21 top, Moschino shorts, Gianvito Rossi shoes and Prada clutch)

Honestly, I've always been in admiration of people who could pull off piling on a simple sweater over a shirt like that and looking so effortlessly chic.

Juicy Couture Spring 2012 RTW

When people think of comfy yet chic loungewear, they usually associate it with Juicy Couture. In this Spring 2012 collection, Juicy Couture has updated its collection to produce these fun and vibrant pieces, but still staying close to what their known for - comfort.

This pair of Juicy Couture mini skirt looks in trend with the scallop tops and shorts that have been very popular recently, very sporty and also spices up a plain look.

LeAnn Nealz (President and Chief creative officer) on Juicy Couture's latest collection: “It had gotten too young. My focus is really to grow her up and elevate the brand in all aspects of design. Juicy needs to be more sophisticated and a bit sexier, but keep the kind of flirtiness that makes it fun.”
What really caught our eyes were the clutches in this collection and the rather fun and flirty accessories paired up to complete the looks.

Our High Tower: Shoes

You know, most people would say that diamonds are a girl's best friend, but we say that if diamonds are a girl's best friend, then shoes would be our secret lover. These selects are just some of our favourites from spring 2012, really looking forward to seeing them out in stores:
What better way to show off those gorgeous legs than in a pair of blocked colours peep-toes wedge booties from Emporio Armani. What's more, nudes can elongate your legs, isn't this already a good enough reason to buy a pair?

This pair from Alejandro Ingelmo's Spring 2012 collection is definitely number one on our list. Trimmed with glistening Swarovski elements, these beauties are hard to miss. The entire collection definitely did not disappoint.
Flowers on shoes might probably be a tad too girly for our taste but we've got to admit, this Nina Ricci platforms are bold and definitely enough to show off the feminine side of every woman.

“I was terrified,” said Miuccia Prada. “I wanted to take on the taboo of sweetness, which is one of the greatest qualities in women. But if you are not aggressive, too? How can that work, for a woman?”
Love how Miuccia Prada breaks the stereotype of women being too sugary and sweet and combined the edgy element with femininity to produce such an amazing collection.

Valentina Pezzo x Anja Leuenberger

These shots by Valentina Pezzo is seriously just absolutely breath-taking. In this editorial, Anja Leuenberger strips to a minimal for a shoot at the beach. Really love how her skin is sun-kissed, the effect of the natural sunlight and her tousled beach hairstyle just compliments the look.

Even her face looks almost bare and au-natural, what do you think?
We think Anja Leuenberger is definitely a fresh face to look out for.

Victoria's Secret Show 2011

Even with the birth of her son, Miranda Kerr is back and rocking three of Victoria's Secret lingerie creations, in her supermodel bod. One of which is the fantasy treasure bra, a $2.5million diamond studded bra with elaborate "ice peacock" piece attached to her waist, receiving a standing ovation as she closed the show. Not to mention, her hair and her look from head to toe, was perfect.

Amongst her and the other Victoria's Secret models was Sui He who turned heads as an angel at her very first walk on the Victoria's Secret runway show.

Favourite holiday of a topmodel

This certainly isn't any typical runway related posts, but Heidi Klum's mind-blowing costume get-ups for her annual parties definitely caught our attention. Who says you can't arrive at a Halloween party in style? Heidi dons the most realistic costumes ever yet still look so amazing, how can anybody pull these looks off?!

Coco Rocha for Senhoa

Coco Rocha has always been this beautiful and amazing supermodel, also famous for being able to do 75 (not to mention, nothing less than perfect) poses in a minute. But this season, she has been absent from the runways so we did some digging. And as it turns out, she's all about making the world a better place and has been working hard on this particular project, to benefit the victims of Cambodia's human trafficking and exploitation. This Canadian-born supermodel shows us that being a model is not just about looking good on the catwalk and attending parties, but also doing good and making a change. Simply inspirational.

The project is a 7 piece jewellery line, consisting of bracelets, earrings and captivating Swarovski necklaces, which was designed by Coco Rocha herself and handcrafted by the Cambodian survivors. Alongside her in this humanitarian project, were her model friends, Iman and Caroline Trentini and also fashion photographer, Niger Barker who were involved to join her in a campaign shot.

The Chantrea - our favourite piece, and definitely a statement necklace that speaks for itself.

Fei Fei Sun for Vogue China

Clad in the instant classics - black and whites, Fei Fei Sun models for Vogue China, November issue with selection pieces from labels such as Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, and more. The way Fei Fei Sun's jet black hair looks against the white background, everything looks like it just fall into place for this perfect black and white theme. Beautifully captured, don't you think?

Especially love this look, with pieces from Stella McCartney and Dolce & Gabbana. The idea of matching prints with printed accessories is brilliant, and when paired with the all black outfit, it's able to achieve a look so bold and strong.
